What is an Earthquake?

The fascination of earthquakes, wavering between the horror of the catastrophe and the excitement of the barely noticeable trembling underfoot. Art as criticism of modern science. An attempt to get to the bottom of epistemological blindness without questioning the pretence of all recognition. A certain pragmatism, there must be another way. An unbiased exploration of countless forms of representation in search of a voice of my own. The assumption that sonifying seismic waves is not only an aesthetic experience but also a fundamentally different approach to nature and tectonics.
